This was a lesson I wished I had learned sooner in my journey. I was so caught up in whether or not I was really trans and valid etc. and you don't have to go through all that, deciding it's what you want makes you valid. Cis people don't decide they want to be another gender.
Born trans, is that called ATAB? And do they come out with a Uno reverse card.
Edit: now that I think more about it, yes you are born trans and find out later.
i'd argue that i find out later in life that i am trans, and that can make me retroactively trans my whole life, if i like that
I didn't realize I was trans until well into my fifties. I was just good at hiding it, even from myself. Doesn't make me less trans. A bit dense maybe, but that just delayed the diagnosis. π
Assignment at birth is based on genitalia/sex. Sometimes doctors fuck that up too, intersex or no. I personally don't see a point in it either.
It's reductive to think there's a correct gender at birth or that it could be reliably assigned as it often has little to do with what's in your pants. E.g. you're probably not experiencing gender dysphoria in the first couple years of life, because babies are treated pretty much the same regardless.
If shojo taught me anything it's that girls really just want to date girls accidentally passing as hot guys
Technically we are all girls, with little deviations along the spectra. Some like their girls rugged, with facial hair, and others like βem quaint and delicate.
