Max is already in the library.

[–] mipadaitu@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Max has always been in the library.
Max will always be in the library.

[–] downpunxx@fedia.io 4 points 1 year ago

Max would like to know if you'd care for a cocktail

[–] assassinatedbyCIA@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago

Knowing my inattentive ass I would have read that sign after happily letting max into the library.

[–] ElJefe@lemm.ee 11 points 1 year ago

Max is the library

[–] Osito@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

Mad is behind me in the library isn't he?

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 83 points 1 year ago (2 children)

This could honestly be a 90s kids cartoon. Every week Max has a new plan to get into the Library, with the intent of knocking books off the shelf. And every week, the mean librarian has to try to stop his plan.

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago (1 children)

What do you want to do today, Max?

TRY TO GET IN TO THE LIBRARY!! 😼

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Ya know, I was trying to avoid the Animaniacs tie-in, because I thought it was a little TOO on the nose.....but yeah, I totally imagined him in that animation style.

Hairy Larry and the Library.

On second thought, yours still sounds more kid-friendly.

[–] BonesOfTheMoon@lemmy.world 53 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I used to work in the ER years ago in a small community hospital, and this neighborhood cat had figured out how the automatic doors on the ambulance ramp worked, and would slip in behind the paramedics and go curl up in the triage chair and wait for patients to come to the window to say hi. She also made rounds of the neighbouring nursing home and hospice on a regular basis.

Sounds like it was collecting souls

kinda what psychopomps are for, yeah.

Let Max in the library!

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 33 points 1 year ago (5 children)

Meanwhile Max is decimating the local bird population, and risking getting hit by cars.

[–] cheddar@programming.dev 18 points 1 year ago

He's living his life to its Maximum.

WHY would you not want Max in the library?

[–] charonn0@startrek.website 24 points 1 year ago

"Here is nothing missing, but a cat urinated on this during a certain night. Cursed be the pesty cat that urinated over this book during the night in Deventer and because of it many others [other cats] too. And beware well not to leave open books at night where cats can come."

He relentlessly hassles the librarians over their "woke agendas."

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 1 year ago

In this case woke agendas means pets and treats

because you're no fun and don't want to install a proper cat door.

[–] thenextguy@lemmy.world 27 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Guards. Make sure Max doesn't enter the library under any circumstance.

Right, keep max in the library, even if he wants to leave.

No, no. Keep max out of the library at all times.

We don't have to do anything other than keep Max in the library.

Out of the library...

Oh, I remember. Can he enter the library with us?

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 year ago

Guards: ..... please come with us, Emperor Max has ordered us to arrest you

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 25 points 1 year ago (5 children)

I wonder what Max did to get banished from the library.

[–] MissJinx@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Having cats I would bet he peed in the library

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yes, probably, but I want to think in my mind that it was something super chaotic and daring, like a furry super-villain.

[–] tburkhol@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Typical cat just knocking things off shelves - the library is an inexhaustible playground.

[–] variants@possumpat.io 5 points 1 year ago

Then spraying it with his butt hole pee contraption

[–] The_Cunt_of_Monte_Cristo@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

Solid possibility.

[–] Kaput@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Meow at the door until someone opens it, then not go outside and go back to sleep on someone's reading material.

Max has left the library. Max has been saved.

[–] bionicjoey@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 year ago

Researching forbidden lore

Instructions clear, have filled the library with cats not named Max

[–] lukstru@lemmy.world 16 points 1 year ago
[–] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 15 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I had a doggie named Max. He had bat ears. We called him BatMax. He died over two years ago. Now I miss Max.

Not your fault, obviously.

[–] CaptnNMorgan@reddthat.com 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I'm sorry for your loss. He was a good boy.

Upblessing BatMax

[–] anas@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

This is not fair, why do everyone else’s opinions matter more and are in a larger font? Max can make his own decisions!

[–] feedum_sneedson@lemmy.world 11 points 1 year ago

I'm afraid I can't stand for this.

[–] iAvicenna@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

I would definitely let him in

[–] limerod@reddthat.com 8 points 1 year ago

Petition to let Max in the Library, now!

[–] Nuke_the_whales@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago

Don't let your cats roam. Especially if you don't want them places they shouldn't be. It's irresponsible and there are mountains of data on why it's bad. But an anecdotal one from me, I live in a c complex in a residential neighborhood, where we often see roaming cats. We also see them dead after they ingest poisoned mice from nearby businesses, and get eaten by coyotes which are not uncommon around here.

Aside from that, it's just terrible for the environment and ecosystem.

[–] lugal@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If I were Max, i would try to get rid of the nameplate or even better change it to something else

[–] Lost_My_Mind@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago

Oh. This isn't Max. This is Tom! His nametag says so.

[–] Emerald@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

People are commenting to let him in the library but the way the letter is written doesn't suggest the library owner owns the cat

[–] Revan343@lemmy.ca 7 points 1 year ago

He's a cat, he practically owns himself
