[...]this year, Lowe's ended its participation in surveys conducted by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the nation's largest LGBTQ organization. Lowe's also shuttered an employee resource group for LGBTQ employees and ended its sponsorship of Pride parades.

A Lowe's spokesperson said the company "will continue to strive to cultivate a workplace that reflects the customers and communities where we operate and where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and respected."

Lowe's is just one of 19 companies that have ended their support of Pride parades, in whole or in part, this year.

The corporate pullback has left several Pride parades short on cash. NYC Pride faces a $750,000 budget gap after losing corporate sponsors. Pride parades in San Francisco and Kansas City are each about $200,000 short. Smaller parades are faring even worse. Eve Keller, co-president of USA Prides, a network of parade organizations, said that "rural Prides are down 70% to 90% when compared to the average year."

Even at 17, he still runs around every so often because he must. So when that happens, good time to play with him.

What would you show to illustrate the importance of gay culture and history?

Current ideas: Static table set up for June. They see it when they enter the lobby/on way to lunch. Can stop and read, cannot miss it.

Start at antiquity, show Sappho, Egyptian tombs, historical erasure.

Go to middle ages/ Renaissance, Christian persecution. Advent of modern institutionalized hate.

Modern, 20s acceptance to return of conservatism, stonewall 70s lib movement, law and protection creation. End with a photo of Jonathon Joss to really turn the knife that it hasn't fucking gone away.

Want to also highlight specific people in the eras. Maybe 1 to 5 with space we have. Harvey milk, Wendy Carlos, Alan Turing.

Looking for any suggestions to really make this a specisl learning experience/ way for the elder gays there to feel appreciated. Know we have a few and they're surrounded by a sea of conservative pricks.

Tldr: suggestions for an educational gay history table. Elderly demographic.

We had to say goodbye to our sweet baby this past weekend. I've been tearing myself up over her while looking through all my pictures and videos.

I just wanted to share her somewhere so that she may reach just a few more people with her cuteness.

I wanted to share a little someone that has touched my life so thoroughly that it has made this goodbye that much harder.

This is Peaches and we had to make the heaviest of decisions to rapidly say goodbye this past weekend as her kidneys were failing.

This little potato's roots were wrapped so deeply around my heart that uprooting them will forever leave a hole the shape of a loaf of bread with ears and a tail.

I have already spent so many hurtful (but joyful) hours finding all the photos and videos I had of her, reminiscing about her nervous panting, her anxious yelping, her snoring, her side eyeing, her 'urf'ing, and her butt scratching dance (which I think is why she warmed up to me so quickly).

It has been incredibly difficult trying to pare down to a select few photos to share because I really just wanted to upload all 300+ (I'll still probably create an album on Facebook). I also didn't realize I took so many, though now that she's gone, it will never be enough.

I hope that wherever she is now, someone remembers to give her butt scritches and she gets her treats at 7:00 (don't worry, she will be sure to remind you).

Until we see you again, we love you with all of our hearts and you are the goodest of girls. We already miss you so much, our 🎶 Sweet Lovely Beautiful Peaches 🎶
