Lean into the silliness and you'll get over it faster. People should be more willing to be silly in general, honestly.

I remember my DM in an early game pushing and pushing me to do something stupid because I wasn't apparently good at roleplaying because .... i didn't do what my character wouldn't fucking do. I cringed at him the whole time he walked me through it and then was so proud for getting me out of my routine.
I know how to act motherfucker it's called dedication to a character, not do random shit to prove you're "creative"
