No, they'll just plop themselves over the blanket and lie between my legs. I had two of them today like this... I couldn't move.

One likes to nestle in the crook of my leg, behind my "knee-bow" as it were. She is definitely our guard cat and is always in very close proximity to me or my girlfriend at all times.

The other is always next to my pillow when he decides to rest with us lol he does his rounds every night and then come back to cuddle.

They really deserve the best life can give lol and they certainly know how to keep comfy.

On cold nights, my oldest cat demands that I make a "bed tent" with my legs so she can sleep under the blankets without being touched.

I've fallen asleep in this position more than once.

One of them does, but she's also a sphynx so kind of a special case.

Yes, if he’s really cold. Usually he prefers to command me to become a human cat bed such that he can sleep on top of said blanket and legs.

Not quite that. But one of our cats would show up at night and demand to be let under the cover. I'd lift it up, and she'd curl up against me for 20-30 minutes, then leave. I miss her!

Another one we have now likes to curl up on or next to my feet, but on top of the covers, not under them. Sometimes he'll come up to my head to get scratches, but he generally only does that when I'm already awake.

Yesssss😻

Fran will go undercover if she feels truly at ease, which happens rarely because Snuggles is an ever present danger. When he is about, the others sleep with one eye open, but when he's off sleeping in a new novel location, Fran, Melon, and Struggles will toy with burrowing and cuddling. It's a treacherous time for all of them.

I have one that likes to snuggle with me. Another likes to lie with his hind parts on a body pillow and his front in my hips. He’s the biggest/heaviest, so this gets uncomfortable quickly. His sister likes to lay with her front paws on my legs.

He has, but 99% of the time he prefers to stretch out between the wife and I long boi style. Head usually on mom's arm and tail draped over my right leg. He will stay in this position till he gets hots, which isn't nearly as fast as I do. But eventually he will climb out of the covers then get under the bed for the rest of the night.

These comments are so wholesome

I have one that usually hates cuddling, but likes lying against my blanketed legs on the couch when it's winter. She has loosened up a bit and does it without the blanket as well in recent years.

The new kitten did it once. She's taken to sleeping next to my legs during a nap, as my legs are usually curled up so there's no between.

They’ve recently started napping under my partner’s blanket. Used to have one who always slept between my ankles.

[–] orclev@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

I have one (the biggest one, about 15 pounds and not much of it from fat) that insists on sleeping on my ankles. I really wish I could convince him not to.

[–] Maalus@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Nope. Mine lays on the other pillow at eye level, his back to me, and then tilts his head up so he can look at me.

[–] Strider@thelemmy.club 2 points 1 year ago

No but my dog does.

[–] Weslee@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

My French Bulldog does this, both above covers and below, she's actually there right now snoring her head off.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 year ago

Yes, and the kitten just plops down wherever in contact with one leg or more
