I went the "easy route" by simply dropping "I'm trans" because I know myself well enough, that I would either chicken out mid sentence, or it would become super awkward.
that's the strat
Only downside is, that some people who aren't that supportive might get a little shocked, especially when theres zero clues about you being trans, and therefore you might experience some quite shitty reactions (happened like that with my mum).

Or they might be confused, especially by the term non-binary… (definitely nothing that happened to me)
Had to explain what this means to my mother too.
