TIL Nancy Pelosi seriously went to bat for gay people during the AIDS epidemic, despite it being a near universally unpopular position in the 80s. Threw hands with the Regan administration for being dicks as well.

Yeah, wish she kept up that kind of resistance. Same with Hillary Clinton. First stared fighting the big medical industry in the 90s, but ended up selling out or getting blackmailed or something and threw in with the existing system which is only slightly better due to "Obamacare"/ACA, but still getting worse and worse as insurance and medical facilities get bought up and turned into profit squeezing machines instead of medical care places.
