  • Wisconsin law generally requires trans people, including children, to publish their legal name changes in a newspaper. Some worry the requirement poses a higher risk with the Trump administration’s anti-trans policies.
  • Lawyers working with trans people say Wisconsin’s publication requirements further endanger the trans community by creating a de facto dataset of people that some fear could be used for firing, harassment or violence.
  • “We live just in constant terror of the wrong person finding out that we have an 11-year-old trans child. … All it takes is one wrong person getting that information, and what we could end up going through, becoming a target, is horrifying.”
  • A Wisconsin law has dissuaded at least one transgender resident from going through with a legal name change. “It can put people at risk of violence and blatant discrimination simply because of who they are,” an ACLU lawyer said.

This is a continuation of my previous post, in spirit. I've been hammering out some rules for a skill-based dungeon-crawling game with five classes, one of which is the Ranger which is meant to be the overland travel specialist. That's a pretty narrow niche, so I've been trying to flesh them out by making them really, really good at mysteries. Here's what I've come up with so far:

  • If you are feeling stumped, you can privately ask the DM for help
  • If you are exercising judgement on par with the average koala, the DM can warn you before your character does something uncharacteristically idiotic.
  • If you are looking for clues, you don't have to roll a skill check to find it as long as you are using an appropriate skill in an appropriate manner.

Basically, Rangers get to operate as if they were using the Gumshoe system, plus the Common Sense feat from GURPS. There's also some more traditional Ranger stuff that I've come up with:

  • You can make an effective ghillie suit in under an hour, and can use Naturalism (the primary ranger skill) to hide using it while in your favored terrain.
  • You can speak with your favored quarry (a mundane animal; you can pick multiple of these if you are fine with dumping all your levels in getting really good at hunting and taming). They likely have different senses and priorities than you and may be helpful in giving you a different perspective, although most will be very food-motivated and dim-witted.

Not sure what to do other than this. Do any of you have other ways I could make give Rangers little buffs to their ability to play as an Aragorn-Batman hybrid?

I was watching some RPG YouTube, and of course there was talk about Monsters. And with the recent OMG CONTROVERSY with the newest Monster Manual, I got to thinking about something that is more inherent in D&D and in fantasy games in general, why so many monsters? I've played various other games, and read many books, watched many movies, but it seems that fantasy games, with D&D leading the charge, seem to have more monsters than any other medium in the genre, or other genre's in particular. So yeah, why are there so many monsters?

The human body's response to HRT is actually admirable in the sheer indifference. Just pure I Don't Give A Shit, I Just Fucking Work Here compliance to the new instructions. You can get testosterone injected straight into your body and it doesn't even question where that shit came from, coming back from a coffee break and just going

"Okay, everything seems to be in ord- oh fuck now what? Oh huh. Alright fine. New orders came in, cancel the menstrual cycle. Dig up the genetic balding patterns from somewhere, I don't fucking know they're buried somewhere in the dna. I'm greenlighting the growing-hair-on-your-toes thing. Yeah just cancel the ongoing maintenance processes, new orders came in so this is apparently what we're doing now:'

The War against the Drow continues

This countess didn't appreciate me yeeting a psychic grenade at her before she could monologue. Her warriors preceded to cast Darkness on the bridge we were at and she teleported with three Shadow Demons before taking me to full health to 0 (Though I stayed up thanks to Gift of the Protectors).

But unfortunately, she could not shake the Synaptic Static debuff and didn't really accomplish much after that before trying to run. If not for the fact Dimension Door has a size limit (Which I hadn't realized until my DM remembered), I'd have teleported over the giant kobold Rune Knight, but settled for bringing the Rogue over to finish her

Hi all,

I’m going on a backpacking trip in a month, and the only tucking underwear I’ve ever heard of is LeoLines and TomboyX, but I might as well ask if there’s anything else. Bonus points if it uses a material like merino wool.

I use both brands for normal daily use, but Leolines is made from cotton and TomboyX is polyester, both of which are not great for temperature and odor control during outdoor trips.

Tucking the old-school way sounds super confusing, so I’d rather not resort to that.

My Siberian cat gets hot. I mean like noticeably hot.

Like a couple minutes after I took this picture he flipped himself over and I went to pet him and I could feel just how hot his fur is.

I now understand why he's always agitated, prefers sleeping on hardwood floors and stone and leather, and doesn't like to cuddle with me or sit on my lap!

Is there something I could realistically do to help him? Especially because I'm in New Jersey and it's about to turn summer.

I'm even fine with trimming his long luxurious fur, for him

Well, so yesterday night i had tthe "luck" of getting to feel what depersonalisation and derealisation (DPDR) actually feels like.

I got woken up in the middle of the night to do something quite short and i almost instantly realise "Something aint right. Everything feels weird". And then slowly I realised, what it was that I felt. It felt like I was watching someone control my body. If I wanted to lift my arm Icould "feel" felt how my brain sended the command to my body execute, and suddenly my arm moved. I felt like my true self was a few centimeters below my skin, waiting to get released from its fleshy vehicle. Everything i touched felt like i touched it with a quite big glove on. If I walked i felt like watching a stream of my body moving while sitting somewhere else with a VR Headset. Luckyly it faded away quite fast, after I was finished with what I had to do (it took 5 Minutes at max) and laid back in an attempt to sleep (which of course didnt work that well, since my mind was still processing the experience it just had).

This was devinetively the weirdest experience I had in my lifetime.
