Cats can be so different at a shelter or even at a foster home than they will be when they get settled. I remember my sister was told the cat she got was "a little playful" like if you made an effort, but twenty minutes after the cat settled in she was flipping her shit over a string toy. Even years later, sick, tired, and elderly, she'd dredge up some energy to bat at a toy.

Are most of them from the same litter, or do you just really love stripey guys?

Oh, neat! My cat gets special food cause of her own allergies, so a powder would be way nicer if one of the humans here developed an allergy.

You know, an anecdote still seems like more legit data than some of the articles I saw. Unless... you're also sponsored???? (joking) There does seem to be a lot of potential in targeting the allergin cats make, so I'm genuinely hopeful about these kinds of treatments.

There are apparently cat foods that reduce the production of what humans are allergic to, but I struggled a bit to find an article about it that didn't read like a paid advertisement. I guess here:

https://www.aaoallergy.org/hypoallergenic-pet-food-myth-or-magic-solution/ This looks real? Would love info from someone who knows more on this.

That's like when my cat started to show an allergic reaction to her food so we switched her to the food her uncle (who also had a food allergy) could eat and she just didn't like the taste as much. I'm sorry, kitty! You don't go bald when you eat this!

I wish we could explain things to them.

Put out the litter while you're around to watch the cat? One of my cats loves of piss on clean litter, which would be convenient for this.

Get a cat safe heating pad in there and her opinion might change

Hmm, some of these work. My DM does enjoy that good grass so there are some sessions where I could steal his entire box of dice without him noticing. Rogue it is, then!

The leader of the defunct “gay furry hacker” group SiegedSec, known for releasing 200 gigabytes of leaked data from the Heritage Foundation last July, may have been the subject of an FBI raid, according to a former member.

Since November 2023, when Russia’s Supreme Court designated the non-existent “international LGBT social movement” as an “extremist organization,” police departments across the country have executed a full-scale crackdown on the queer community. Officers have raided clubs and parties and placed LGBTQ+ people under surveillance while bigots harass queer community members and try to expose them to employers and parents. Wherever the authorities go, they collect evidence that facilitates monitoring, from video footage and business records to fingerprints and even mouth swabs. Meduza special correspondent Lilia Yapparova has learned that Russian officials are also discussing overhauling the country’s data-collection practices to create a single electronic registry for monitoring LGBTQ+ individuals — a database that would make blackmailing and persecuting queer people vastly easier.

My poor cat scratched his head by accident and won't leave the cut alone, so it's cone time. Unfortunately, every cone we've tried had been incredibly disruptive to his life. The newest one is at least lighter and he eats okay wearing it, but he's still miserable.

I'm willing to even make one if someone has a pattern they've used. I tried a hat, but he gets it off right away. I clip his claws shorter already, and it's not quite enough to keep him from reinjuring himself.

Any suggestions? He has allergies, so this is going to be an occasional problem.
