Invite new folks who want to play ttrpgs specifically, let the typical folks know that there will be new folks, and see who sticks around after the shoe drops.

Just saying twice over, for good effect, you know?

And you just know it was 3.5e. Damn thousand splatbooks and their feats.

Why? Because npc. Everything else is a pc class.

I was the opposite. I'd have an adventure first session, and a general idea of what was going on in the world, and then just ad-libbed everything from there. I don't think I ever had anything besides a map of where I thought the party would be for the session, and some npcs. I pulled so heavily from the monster manual for fights... I got a lot of utility from swapping stat blocks and just describing monsters weirdly.

Just know that character creation is reminiscent of the oldest D&D types, where you'd roll randomly. It is possible (I read a review of the game, not the system itself, thank god) to have a negative circumference of the anus.

You look great, and I'm super jealous of your hair! It sounds like you've got decent support behind you, which is so awesome.

Seeing as we all ran games as teenagers... damn, we burned out early.

I wonder how many groups would ever have a barbarian. A person with a temper that I ever see basically makes it to my 'don't-wanna-be-around' list.

Those are both great examples of why a character might try to throw anti-troll paste (tar) at trolls.

spoilerA red cape doesn't mean anything different than a black cape to a bull, and sucking venom from a snakebite isn't a thing outside of movies. It won't hurt, but it won't do much good either. One myth that will cause damage is putting ice on a pit viper bite though, so remember to avoid doing that.

Yeah, they were one of the true things I hated about the dragon books. When one of the characters went back and time and discovered that kender were straight up banned from the 'supposedly good city' (oh how shocking) and was horrified, I just rolled my eyes. If even the author, with carte blanche to write whatever and however they wanted, couldn't make the habit cute, it's never going to happen at a playing table.
