I had this problem with my cat. I had to go to the options and enable the Gravity setting.

Back in the days of witch burnings, church officials sometimes did accuse cats of devilry. In fact one bigwig did this huge cat purge right before the black death killed like 25 percent of the human population. Not coincidently spread by fleas on rats.
Not the only time that the church killed the heroes.
