It's that time of year...

So there’s a huge stray cat problem and population in Corfu and I’m trying to make a tiny difference. This is the first cat I’ll be trapping myself and releasing. Today my friend‘s mom dropped off a trap and we’re gonna set it up and see what happens. I’ll keep you guys posted

(Edit: edited to say I am sure he is a stray because he doesn’t belong to any of my family which are the only people that live around me and there’s only a main road that you would have to cross to get here and I’ve been feeding him for three months either way, the vet will confirm if he’s microchip or not too. Also, I’m not releasing a randomly I’m going to release them right where he comes to eat. )

Two years ago I made a post on Reddit's pcmasterrace (under same username) that somehow made it to /all and trended for a while.

Fast-forward to today, and I’ve found myself slowly distancing from Reddit with all the drama, weird decisions, and the feeling that any post you make can get nuked on a whim by a power-tripping mod (see: r/art).

So I wanted to anchor this moment with big chungus here on the fediverse as I start a new chapter on Lemmy. Looking forward to hanging out with everyone here and having fun again.

By the way big chungus is alive and well, the same can't be said for the 4090 though, i'm getting coil whine from it and had to live with that until 60 series...

To those unfamiliar, Sam attempted to create a real-time play-by-post wargame set on Mothership’s best module, but he accidentally created an enormous text-only LARP instead.

I think this blog post is among the better ones if you never heard of this before.

I haven't played dnd since the 3-3.5 transition and I just found a new group to play with. I have a few ideas for characters and was hoping for some advice on one of them. The dm says that the group is story/rp driven and not to min-max. I'm supposed to use 2024 content if it's been reprinted but can use 5th edition content that hasn't been updated to 2024.

The character is a kobold genie warlock. He was born into a cult and was physically small and weak so he was mostly relegated to menial tasks and overlooked. He is charismatic and crafty so he survived in the cult by playing into the perception that he was unimportant and harmless. Because he was so nonthreatening he was trusted and the leader chose him to do things like cleaning the inner sanctuary. While cleaning the master's quarters he met a djinni that the master had bound to a vessel and enslaved for a long time. The djinni saw him as an opportunity. He befriended my character, telling him stories of life outside of the cult and teaching him new skills and magic. Over time my character came to trust the dijinni and the dijinni offered him a deal. If my character would help the dijinni escape then the dijinni would give my character what he most desired, the power to decide his own destiny. My character helped the dijinni escape and in return the dijinni altered his appearance and bound him to the dijinni as a warlock.

I would prioritize the character's abilities as charisma-wisdom-dex-intelligence-con-strength. For his background I was thinking acolyte and taking druid spells for the magic initiate feat. I would do the pact of the book for the first level invocation. This gives me a lot of cantrips and a few free first level spells and I would eldritch blast probably one other offensive cantrip but I would try to focus on utility spells. I would take goodberry for the free first level druid spell because I think that it fits well with the minimalist survival concept from the backstory.

I'm trying to leave things open to try to give the DM as much opportunity as possible to work what she wants to into the game. It's probably a dragon cult since the character is a kobold but it doesn't have to be. The size of the cult could be whatever it needs to be, it could be stand-alone or part of a larger organization. Why did the dijinni bind the character instead of just giving him power? Does he want the character to do something specific? Does he just like him? What's the djinni's plans? Does he want revenge on the cult? Does he want to build his own cult?

So a tourist found these three in April in a garbage bag seen below in the screenshots of my conversation with the tourist. There was some speculations in my first ever post that the garbage bag cats weren’t the same as the cats that I posted after. But you know what? I’m glad they don’t look the same because the cats in the garbage bag are wet, face down and about to die and with a little love these garbage three turned into some beautiful freaking creatures.

My sleep schedule was insane. This was my first time bottle feeding kittens and they were obviously just born. Tiny still had an umbilical cord attached …I was waking up every hour for the first few days every two hours for the next week every three afterwards then every four… I was exhausted

On Easter I really thought Tiny wasn’t going to make it. She was so small and she was fading and panting, like in the video below for an hour. After feeding her with a syringe keeping her warm rubbing honey on her gums to boost her sugar levels she pulled through.

Easter is when my aunt told me that a cat by her house had given birth and has two kittens and I should maybe try to get her to accept the three garbage bin babies..so I gave it a shot and lucky me…The mom accepted all three babies.

Tiny moustache chonky spike and Buffy were introduced to another kitten that was found in a field while someone was cutting the grass. His name was potato. I’ll share his story in a separate post later. He’s the white one with the orange tipped ears.

Spike was adopted by university student here in Corfu and lives in an apartment in the city meanwhile Buffy and the garbage three live with me. I had mommy spayed and returned her back to my aunts. My aunt tried to keep her indoors but she wasn’t having it. She’s still running a ruckus around my aunt’s house and knocks on the door when she wants food sometimes she’ll stroll in for a little look around .The good thing is though now she’s spayed so no more kittens.

Tiny had a little battle with anaemia but after a quick vet visit everything was alright. the 5 cats I kept started to explore outside and bond more Once tiny and Buffy were six months they were spayed. And shortly after moustache and mushroom (another cat rescued who will have their own post) also we’re spayed.. and also we’re kinda high. ( will post videos of them kinda high to the peer tube later it’s just kinda hard case I already started this post before uploading those videos) there is however some other videos that I haven’t linked here on that channel that you guys can also watch.

To think that these three cats..if that tourist hadn’t heard moustache screaming in the garbage bin from a tied up blue bag .. would be dead is unbelievable. The love they have to offer is unmatched and the attachment I have to them because they were the first kittens I’ve ever bottle fed is impossible to describe. Anyways, that’s the story of the garbage bag babies. On the first post I ever posted on lemmy someone tried to say that the cats in the blue bag were different than the second photo I posted because there’s a whole other cat in the back or they aren’t the same tabbies well I guess now you know who Buffy is…
