Reform councillor’s boast about removing ‘trans-ideological’ books from children’s library sections falls flat

A boast by a Reform UK councillor that he ensured the removal of “trans-ideological material and books” from the children’s section of his county’s libraries has fallen flat after it emerged that no such material ever existed there.

Hear ye, hear ye! Tales From the Tables is back with episode 52: Lady Mage of Waterdeep, part 2.

Apologies, not very meme-y this time, still submitting for the sake of completion and popular demand :)

Our intrepid adventurers befriend Laeral Silverhand, and get to know the fames Lady Mage of Waterdeep from a different, personal side. It's very much a Laeral special, lovingly consulted with the man, the legend, Ed Greenwood. It saddens me that so many D&D players only know Laeral superficially, if at all.

"Ruler of Waterdeep" "Oh, she's a powerful wizard and very old, isn't she?" And that's about the extend of most players' knowledge... She's a truly fascinating character who's walked Faerun for over 7 centuries, with beautiful, oft heart-wrenching stories to tell. I do hope my little hints at but a handful of events from her past will encourage a few people to at least read up about her on the Forgotten Realms Wiki, or better yet, reach for the many amazing books by Ed Greenwood or Steven E. Schend.

Hi friends, My name is Cyara, and I’m a transgender refugee living in Gorom camp, South Sudan, along with other queer community members. We came here after fleeing severe persecution and violence in Kakuma refugee camp in Kenya where many of us were harassed, attacked, and denied safety.

We thought we would be safer in South Sudan, but here too we face discrimination, abuse, and daily threats. Then, on June 20th, the government gave us an eviction deadline: leave the camp or face prison. They gave us no plan, no support, just a deadline. That day came and passed. We are still stuck, scared, and exposed.

I know posts like this can feel overwhelming but please believe me when I say: this isn’t easy to write. I’m not trying to guilt anyone. I’m just desperate to get help for me and my sisters.

We are trying to raise $1500 USD to rent a shelter in Juba for 3 months, to house 8 of us while we try to find longer-term safety. We’ve raised $121 so far I’m grateful beyond words for that, but we’re still far from safety.

Please — if you can’t donate, just boost this post. Share it. Let people know we exist. That alone could save a life. Also please mods, my cause was really verified by Qaz. Please don’t take it down. I can still verify my situation
