Some additional things that are useful for dilation:" have some tubs (I use some that the hospital used to bring ice to my room) to hold the dilators while you aren't using them. They are re-usable and the dilators can't roll out/off of them.
My experience was pretty similar.
Too tired to answer now but I'll try and follow up with my experience.
It varies, most aren't. I grew closer to the ones that supported me when I came out, like my aunts. The others I just sort of stopped talking to as it became clear they had no interest in changing their views.
My guess is he would feel like you lied regardless of if you told him upfront or he found out later. It's just not worth outing yourself.
There wasn't any major change to how I felt either. My emotional range did expand but my day to day didn't feel any different. Been on E for 2+ years now.
