I don't know how to sound hopeful in this moment because i'm also feeling quite despondent, but all I know is all of my friends are trans and i'm ready to throw fucking hands to protect them. yeahhh sorry didn't mean to offend anyone, I think I am flip about my word choice because I view the distinction as meaningless on a personal level. I don't really care if you "chose" to become queer or trans or if you always were and it was just hiding, your queerness is still valid either way! But I am realizing that that some may have strong feelings about the choice of language, and it is important to be respectful on that point.

Right, like, why are we writing this kind of piece in 2025? She's just retiring, calm down. I'll accept this kind of puff piece when she actually kicks it - at that point, it'll be worth remembering the good things she did, and remembering her entire arc as a grim warning for the young radicals of today. But she's just retiring. Let's not inflate her ego while she's still alive, and still using the American people for profit.
