Some people are very defensive of the terms they use themselves, or terms in general. Just go with what works for you. Ignore the detractors. You must feel good about your own identity. Nobody else has to; they don't live your life.

My personal experience with the Dutch clinic; There were a number of gatekeepers at the helm of the Dutch clinic for the longest time. Some retired or died since, making way for a more progressive team. At least one such gatekeepers is still part of the team and is heavily partaking in rightwing koolaid, most notably about transgender youth healthcare, not really helping the situation. It took me 20 years of battling uphill to get where I needed to be. The current rightwing government is working to make things worse.
Here's hoping everyone else you come out to will have a similar reaction. Don't let them get you down if they do not; it's their failure, not yours.
The only reason ICE exists is to capture US citizens for made up crimes, incarcerate them and put them into corporate slavery, forcibly relocate them to countries they have never been to, or execute them. They are a terrorist group and should be treated that way.
