And having no empathy makes it more enjoyable to fuck people over to become rich. Maybe not a consideration for royals who were born into wealth, but certainly a factor in the circles they move in.

It's not just that their wealth gives them the opportunity to wield and enjoy power over others, but also that those who are thrilled by power over others seek wealth and enjoy the ruthless things they have to do to get it. So these characteristics will be overrepresented among the rich.

Yes. People don't like the extremist and murderous policies of that state under Netanyahu. While antisemitism is still a problem worldwide, objecting to Israel's treatment of Palestinians is not in itself antisemitism. The accusation of antisemitism has been used politically to deflect criticism of these policies.

And of course such criticism doesn't mean people like Hamas either. That's another accusation that has been trotted out to deflect criticism.

I think they'd just rather it said "UN reports Israeli forces are alleged to be carrying out mass summary executions in Gaza."

Still doesn't make the IDF look good, but it's a fair point.

There was no made-up quote. The quote was from the article, which left the end off a sentence, saying that the circumstances are under investigation, although the killings have been confirmed. So we have survivors accusing the IDF of slaughtering these people and we have the bodies, but it has not definitively been proven that the people were killed in the way the survivors claim. People can make of that what they will. I'm not trying to twist anything.

Here is the report (PDF):

Fascism isn't about logic or argument though; it's about constantly defining and redefining the characteristics of the in-group so you can blame, persecute and kill those you exclude from it.

It doesn't though. Only the headline does that. That's not good, but the article itself is not bad because of its headline.

The article prefaces every item with the word "alleged" or "alleges", just like the report. How is this biased?

The UN added, “While in control of the building and the civilians sheltering there, the IDF allegedly separated the men from the women and children, and then shot and killed at least 11 of the men, mostly aged in their late 20’s and early 30’s, in front of their family members.” The UN continued, “The IDF then allegedly ordered the women and children into a room, and either shot at them or threw a grenade into the room, reportedly seriously injuring some of them, including an infant and a child. OHCHR has confirmed the killings at Al Awda building.”

"The whole Gaza Strip needs to be empty. Flattened. Just like in Auschwitz," Metula Mayor David Azoulai said in a radio interview on Sunday, according toThe Times of Israel. "Let it be a museum for all the world to see what Israel can do. Let no one reside in the Gaza Strip for all the world to see, because October 7 was in a way a second Holocaust."

How blinkered do you have to be to see the Hamas attacks on October 7 as akin to the Holocaust, but not see that your own determination to wipe out the entire people of Gaza resembles the genocidal intent behind the Holocaust?

Israel's campaign to crush the militant group has so far killed at least 18,800, mostly women and children, according to the territory's Hamas government.

Calling it "Israel's campaign to crush the militant group" is arguably too charitable at this point.
