Josef Čapek (1887 - 1945) was a Czech artist who was best known as a painter, but who was also noted as a writer and a poet. He invented the word "robot", which was introduced into literature by his brother, Karel Čapek.
I love the scale of this piece, tiny people and vast forest far below.
I like this image because of the stillness and warmth. No humans, emotions or strife, past or present - just a calm nicely observed moment of nature. Places like this have brought me peace in times of difficulty.
