They did, but they also produce twice as much as america between the two they account for 45% of global electricity. If they can get renewables to make the majority of their power that's a win.

people don't know about Vatican 2 where they finally change mass from Latin to whatever the local language was in FUCKING 1962. I've been to Latin masses. I thought it was cool, but I'm glad they switched. My grandpa complained the church went pop with Vatican 2.
So the vatican, after emphasizing homosexuality is a sin, has officially declared they are indeed people and worthy of blessing. I guess after blessing fornicators, blasphemers, adulterers, and the obscenely rich they realized it was ok.
