Informed consent and Planned Parenthood in the US. I scheduled an appointment about a week out from when I called and left with a prescription. This was almost 6 years ago, and it's handled by my primary care doctor now, but that was the quick route to get started!

Fortunately Minnesota (and several other states, Vermont being another) simply lets you self ID your gender marker on your license, so your driver's license can have the correct gender even if your birth certificate can't be changed because of shithole states being shitty.
I'm guessing they asked a bunch of cis gay people. I know New Hampshire has fine protections legally for cis gay people, but not for trans people. A lot of those high scoring states (including New Hampshire) don't even let trans people change their drivers license gender without a bunch of complicated steps. Minnesota and Vermont just let you pick when signing up, or submit a single form to change it if you've already got your license.
I feel like their methodology is flawed...
