No. It would be in character to give him money if his character wasn't greedy or an asshole. It would also be in character for him to find the local Lord who overtaxed him into poverty, burn down his manor house, and steal his dog.
GM: You see a beggar in the snow, what do you do?
CN: I plink him in the face with copper pieces while making fun of him.
GM: Dafuq?
CN: Then when I run out of money I grab him and say "okay, it's your turn, let's switch places!"
