Yup. Corporations view us as a temporary resource they can withdraw support from when needed, it’s in our interest to treat them the same.

For sure, no disagreement from me. Queer people have been warning about how corporations aren’t your friend since forever for a reason.

Yeah, there’s basically no larger company from that time that doesn’t have a history of donating to anti-LGBT politicians and causes. Target briefly becoming basically the only national retail chain selling binders had put them back in my good graces, but being fucking babies about pissing off the trash and supporting their employees who are dealing with the trash has dumped absolutely all that good will.

This has secured Target’s place on my permanent retail grudge list. At least this has been educational for the people who don’t remember a time before Pride was corporate, I guess.

All the little anatomical details on the cat make this great. The Henry’s pocket, the scrunched up nose, the retracted claws correctly being shown as a ‘split’ in the front of the paw… it’s just so cool to see artists from 100+ years ago seeing and portraying this without the sort of simplified visual language we grew up with in cartoons, books, etc for what a cat looks like.

Bar:PM co-owner Chad Morris was charged with assault after the SUV struck his business. Police say that he struck an officer “hard in the chest with an open hand,” though the bystander video of the incident shows no such shove. Police have thus far not made body cam footage public.

I bet more funding will fix this!

That one’s a volunteer.

The bill is one of several proposed in West Virginia this year. Another bill, Senate Bill 195, would target transgender people as being “obscene” and would bar “transgender exposure, performances, or display” to any minor. This could have the effect of barring transgender people from being able to exist in public, as it would be difficult to avoid being seen as a transgender person by a minor. Speaking to this bill, Orr stated, “This is a blatant attempt to criminalize and erase the trans community of West Virginia.”

I honestly can’t find anything to say about these two bills that doesn’t feel overly doomer. It’s probably unenforceable showboating for election season… but plenty of cops aren’t going to know or care. Plenty of MAGA shitheads walking around getting offended by any gender nonconformity are going to see these bills for what they are: a green light to make life even worse for trans people.

It’s weird being at this intersection of “things have improved so much in the past 20 years” and “things have gotten SO drastically worse in the past 2 years”.

The outline around his eyes like he’s just taken some goggles off is so cute!

The pens on both of these (but especially the left) are far too large to be veal crates, which don’t allow calves to turn around.

It’s OK, I don’t think he actually has the power to make vampires have sex.
