Because maybe

it's a joke about the least feminine trait on the person pictured.

it's also stereotyped to be a fairly popular band amongst transfemmes

This literally happened to me but the other way around when I picked up my T injections 😭

[–] birdwing@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

out of curiosity mate, are there multiple methods for T like with E? for E there's spray, pills, patches, injections, and pellets... but how about T?

[–] JayJLeas@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

There seem to be fewer options for T. There are two types of intramuscular injections, patches, or gel. As far as I'm aware, those are the only options.

wait, you mean three? injections, patches, or gel?

but yeah dang, that's certainly more limited. hope the t's doing a good job though!

Nah, there are two different types of injections, so there are 4 methods all together.

I've only been on it a couple of months, so I haven't noticed any changes yet, but thanks!

interesting, what's the main diff between the two injections?

it's curious to see it from the other side -- i'm going the other path (with E).

if it helps for noticing the changes, take pictures every few months, then it's easier to see the progress.

In my case it's mental stuff that happened first - like the relief of finally starting, and increasing mental clarity. skin changes fairly fast too.

i'm not sure if i'm womansplaining rn, so i spoilered it - but in case you're curious for the speed of changes;

this graph would be handyin short, first physical effects you might notice is your skin getting oilier, as well as cessation of periods. your voice will start to deepen by 3-12 months. here's a page that describes the effects well.

One is a bigger needle that has to be administered by a nurse into your butt and is a slower release, you only have to get it done every few months. The other is smaller and can be self-administered (this is the method I'm doing since I live in woop-woop and getting a doctor to reliably administer it for me is a nightmare) and is done approximately every 4 weeks.

You're fine, I appreciate the information! I have a friend going through the same process as you and I'm always intrigued hearing her side of it all too.

Yeah this is going to happen to me for the rest of my life. I'm just gonna... Deal with it I guess
