Yes, both lemmy.zip and piefed.zip have had issues for weeks

Which one? It probably doesn't support avif format images, so I'll get in contact and ask they add support

.zip converts hosted images to avif so if you only see it with pictures that could still be it

I have to click through a Cloudflare challenge when opening a lemmy.zip link and don't get thumbnails for these posts, could be related to what you're seeing if the app doesn't handle that situation properly.
