Looks like nasi lemak, so the picture could be from Indonesia or Malaysia. Posters here reacting to someone eating while sitting on the floor: the majority of human civilization does it. How about respecting the fact that there are other cultures than your own? Maybe the kitten had fallen asleep on the photographer's lap and they just placed it there for a cute photo.
Was going to say, this looks like southeast Asia lol
