Budapest Mayor Gergely Karacsony wants to allow the annual Pride parade to go ahead on June 28 despite a ban by the police, with thousands of visitors expected to attend.

At the beginning of the week, Mayor Karacsony declared Pride an official celebration of the capital Budapest.
