I hate that people have forcefully bred such a horrific deformity into cats.

[–] TheFunkyMonk@lemmy.world 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Same! I adopted him from a rescue that specializes in Persians and Himalayans because they end up in rescue situations so often.

[–] unknown@piefed.social 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I'm glad you adopted. Does he have breathing difficulties?

[–] TheFunkyMonk@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

No, thankfully he’s been pretty healthy overall. He had bad infections in both of his eyes when I adopted him, but those are since healed up and he has relatively wide nostrils for a Persian, so we’re looking good.

same with bulldogs and shih tzus, and the other deformities in dogs.

Nice to see another vegan about. I will never understand how more people aren't vegan, what with the sheer level of cruelty, body horror and ecocide constantly everywhere around us. The vystopia is real.

[–] aeternum@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

Right? There’s no excuse anymore to not be vegan. It’s been many thousands of years since eating animals could have been excused

I get why people shop there, but going to Costco makes me so anxious.

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Is it because it’s too big or specifically because it’s too tall?

[–] cccrontab@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It's the experience of shopping at Costco. It is so stressful. It starts as soon as you approach the parking lot, trying to find parking, dealing with people and carts inside, being frisked on your way out. It is a terrible experience overall and I don't mind paying slightly higher prices just to avoid it.

[–] moseschrute@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

That does sound stressful. Think I’m just going to hide inside with my kittens for today. Costco can’t hurt me here.

[–] Adderbox76@lemmy.ca 4 points 1 month ago

If it's Costco went does your cat have the same facial expression as a typical Walmart greeter?

"Welcome to Costco. Now fuck off."

Aldi sells things like this occasionally. Cats love em
