This is nice and all, but what are they actively doing besides promoting france as a place to live?

Are these people giving money to us through mutual aid networks?

Would they book us flights and help out with immigration into france?

Are they boyccotting american products? Given that they are using Instagram it seems not.

Messages and shows of solidarity are nice, but they have to back it up through actions.

This is true. It's also important to remember that action begins with awareness.
