As a short person, I found this guide very useful to face problems that arise in my day-to-day life.

Be careful with the leap attack, though. It'll leave you very vulnerable if you fail or if there are more enemies around.

Also be careful of the shield spike, the dwarf in the diagram would have just stabbed himself
