You know, it always shocks me that people don’t get this. Like, the 2A people are the definition of single issue voters. Like… they only care about which party will give the less restrictive gun laws. If ether party said they’d make it so people didn’t need a tax stamp for short barreled rifles anymore, they’d win that voting block no question.

Like, they’re not die hard republicans, they literally only care about one thing.

I think you're giving 2A voters too much credit.

Arms manufacturers fund the whole media sphere to heighten fear by saying Americans need to buy guns to protect themselves from other Americans.

Without the gun industry, there is no astroturf "2A community"

What you're really hearing is "The gun industry doesn't like this idea, because it will hurt their profits"

Although in the case of transfolk, yes it is proven just being trans is more dangerous in America, particularly if you're both colored and trans ~~and arming oneself is actually justified.~~ retracted

Edit: LGBTQ+ are even more disproportionately affected by gun violence when a gun is present in the home.

and arming oneself is actually justified.

Except that arming yourself overwhelmingly increases your chance of being the victim of gun violence, far more than the miniscule (and mostly fanciful) idea you might successfully use it to protect yourself.

You are correct. https://www.lwv.org/blog/why-gun-safety-lgbtqia-issue

I retract my previous statement.
