It's a very simple matter 2 and maybe mind 3 effect, for simple commands and routines. No ghosts involved!

Everyone knows a bite attack's damage is just strength + successes rolled lethal damage. Agg if you are some kinda freak.

Wizards really doesn't care about anything they've actually done well. Their mostly abandoned settings are by far their best, the forgotten realms (and the sword coast specifically) are barely even mid.

  • "there are no werewolves in the god damn park"
  • "Fuck you I'm going to the Prince for this"..."ow hey why are you hitting me!?"
  • "This has been a weirdly sexual night"
  • "The sword of Cain has fallen and it fell where it pleased!"
  • "If you do that you're gonna have to drop your alignment to chaotic evil"
  • "Turns out i can afford a rocket launcher"

Man that's weird, like really fucking weird. I know it's a Disney movie and the masses obsess over those for some reason, but was it really that big a deal?

One of my favorite obstacles I've ever placed in front of my players was a cat asking who they were. They couldn't progress until they answered due to the nature of the path they were traveling, but there was literally no way to get it wrong. The cat would accept any answer that wasn't outright bullshit and would never hurt them for lying. The duelist steps up and gives his noble affiliation, the commoner fast talker steps up and gives a not-quite-a-lie. They both repeat this process expecting to fight or talk their way through a problem that just doesn't exist, the others being too worried to do so until the npc they brought with them does the same. Eventually they all answer, with the secret heir to the throne not even giving away his title, then flounder until one of them just walks down the road. It was great watching them be so paranoid over a little cat.

Awakening is essentially a different version of Ascension, so you've got the basic Idea of how it plays, although i think it's a bit more lethal and straight combat is more discouraged.

Playing a point buy system with character creation that is the same between NPCs and PCs really does let you have a better connection to the world. You can reasonably guess or study it logic out things about other people in the world.

My next changeling the lost character will be a more of a cuck version of Joker (P5), personally.

Why do you think everyone buys their shitty products? I'd bet most actual hobbyists haven't played dnd in a decade or more, partly because of this crap.

you know why gamefreak games suck (to use an unrelated example)? People that will just accept whatever garbage is given to them without complaint instead of having standards. If I'm buying an adventure path i expect it to be complete. Hell that applies to dnd broadly as well, awful, incomplete, overpriced game that it is.
