Apart from silly trade wars, which are less than the USA did to Canada under trump, China has not been an aggressive trade partner. We ally with the US due to historical links. Similarly with the UK. China is a risk as they are large, powerful and their political system and values don't match ours, but if you take xenophobia aside, they have helped.us.mich more than hindered. There are few dead Australians from wars China got us involved in.

Australian here. I'm embarrassed and angry that we are in breach of un human rights so often in our immigration policy.

Being opposed to genocide is pretty much the least we could do. The USA is not giving us subs. They are selling them. We won't need them by the time they are delivered as unmanned drone submarines will be the norm. It's why they are willing to share.

No, I meant in 2019. Brexit was already a mess. Instead they gained.

Saying that, I didn't think brexit would get up either.

Yes, I was quite surprised they didn't get the boot last election.

Bottled water is bad for the planet and not worth paying for. I still do, on occasion, but let's not pretend PepsiCo sells any healthy food or essentials. All is discretionary. We should remind them.

If this was any other country, they would never say that as a foreign transgressor enters. However, Palestine is not recognized as a state. So Israel, presumably, has not declared war and is just killing civilians as a means to anti terrorism. Even the USA after 9/11 sought valid reasons for war, even if they turned out to be fabricated. Now the veil is gone.

No, but that's how democracy works.

You could widen it. Does all the world deserve to suffer as many voters in America choose to be low information voters?

If a recession has to happen, it's good that it's hard to tell. For the average person, .1% up or .1% down is effectively the same. This is still a soft landing from huge inflation numbers and covid wreaking havoc.

I'm not optimistic but I do hope whatever reshuffle is happening in the world economy is making it more efficient and resilient. I don't see the same disaster that others do. Apart from climate, the biggest challenge seems political rather than economic at the moment. Fascism and extremism are on the rise. History tells us more conflict is coming.

True, but they are the same people that keep voting in the far right. It's the same in many countries at the moment.nthe far right is not supported by all, but by enough to gain power.

The point is to say they are non combatants, not to perpetuate gender norms or stereotypes.
