For the benefit of the underprivileged?

The "family decision" part is bullshit. And while they shouldn't be given time to mourn before the HRT, the reality is that they may mourn the future they expected, and that's not necessarily a bad thing and something we should allow.

Mourning is a natural process, and it can be an important part of acceptance. It's better for a loved one to mourn their expectations and then move forward than it is for them to live in denial, which is too often the case.

I don't know how many friends and loved ones are still misgendered by their family out of denial because they've refused to accept what they didn't expect.

I fuck up people's pronouns all the time and feel really bad about it. I promise it's not targeted. The thing is: I'm someone who fucks up when I speak all the time.

It's not hatred. I'm just kinda dumb.

Fun fact:

The Expanse books (and eventual TV show) were started as a unique role-playing campaign where the person running it (Ty Franks) would write a prompt, the players would explain their character's reactions. He'd then write a story section incorporating that and the players would say how they reacted and so on.

There was a core group of characters who were the "survivors" early on, but one of the players had to drop out early-ish, so in the next bit of story that character died.

That was carried into the books and TV show, which is why after the core group of characters is established, there's a sudden, shocking death.

I loved how they handled the concept of a feminine hero in the sequel.

Ripley is the hero, but there's also Vasquez - the badass marine. Vasquez is what so many people tried to do to make women heroic in action films.

She's just an action hero that happens to be a woman. And she's great. But her character isn't classically "feminine."

Meanwhile Ripley is all woman. Her iconic badass moment ("Get away from her you bitch!") is the action climax of the film, and its also when she's being her most feminine. Her heroism didn't carry an asterisk saying she's a badass despite her sex.

She's not sexy, not vulnerable, not emulating a stereotypical man's role in combat. She's all-woman and all-badass.

My Dad was a firefighter fpr 35 years, and his go-to line when someone wanted help gettong a cat down was, "Have you ever seen a cat skeleton in a tree?"

Do opposing numbers add up to 328?

My main has an invisible ring of mind shielding, and is (still unbeknownst to the rest of the party) actually the possessed body of the person who killed me and stole my ring.

I just now realized I built my impostor syndrome into my DnD character.

Look at how they used to require the female athletes to dress in beach volleyball. Men get loose, comfortable shirts and shorts, while woman were allowed a maximum of 10cm of cloth on their bikini bottoms.
