For example, around sports, where I think most reasonable people would recognize that there are serious fairness issues if you just treat this as not mattering when a trans athlete wants to compete in women’s sports.

Pete when it comes to his own career options:

Buttigieg reportedly added that he believes in “giving Americans more credit” in how they make voting decisions.

So which one is it? Do we play into the both-sides centrism BS and throw queer people under the bus when it's electorally expedient or do we stand up for decency and human rights for all even if it might be a bit inconvenient?

We have a word for what's going on in your country. It's called Gleichschaltung. Look it up, if you're unfamiliar.
